About Scale Space

Scale Space is a scaleup community, providing access to the people, services and space businesses need to succeed. It provides bespoke laboratory and office space to support the R&D and commercialisation activities of knowledge-intensive companies. It provides a home for businesses to scale alongside Imperial’s world-leading academics, allowing entrepreneurs and researchers to share ideas and turn scientific discoveries into new products and services.

The Pioneer Programme

This role is part of the BC Pioneer Programme; a portfolio-wide community and learning & development programme built exclusively for the future leaders of our ventures and scale-ups. You will have a tangible impact on a business going through a phase of market expansion. Alongside your role, you will undertake a 15-month RedTeam L&D programme, giving you access to learning materials, training, and experts to help you set up your own career adventure. This approach is at the heart of the Pioneer programme vision, and Scale Space and the RedTeam are committed to helping you excel.

Duties
  • Working with the Head of Growth and Partnerships, build and maintain strong partnerships with internal stakeholders (Imperial, Blenheim Chalcot) and other relevant external organisations.
  • Work with the Scale Space team to deliver and support a series of regular, meaningful events for members, focusing on innovation, collaboration, and networking.
  • Through delivery of Scale Space’s events programme, support members to address their business needs and scaling challenges via connections with relevant contacts at Imperial, Blenheim Chalcot and other partners.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive member engagement and satisfaction through events, communications, and new initiatives, while rolling up your sleeves to get things done.
  • Represent Scale Space externally to potential members, partners, and the wider innovation ecosystem.
  • Take part in the Pioneer Programme’s informal learning and networking events across the Blenheim Chalcot portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have

  • A genuine curiosity for R&D companies, from life sciences and engineering to digital ventures.
  • An outgoing, friendly, proactive, and approachable personality.

  • Evidence of the ability to be a self-starter and adapt to multiple roles in a high-pace environment.
  • A passion for building your network and the capacity to work well with colleagues and stakeholders at all levels, including university partners and C-suite executives.
  • Minimum 2 years’ work experience.
  • Minimum 2.1 undergraduate degree (in any discipline).
