A healthcare organization in the United Kingdom is seeking a Pharmacy Technician to support pharmacists within the Primary Care Network. The candidate will assist in preparing and dispensing medications, managing inventory, and providing patient support. Required qualifications include a BTEC or NVQ3 in Pharmaceutical Sciences and at least 2 years of experience in primary care. The role offers a salary range of £26,332 to £34,087 annually based on competencies achieved.
Youwill be employed as a Pharmacy Technician within the Primary Care Network (PCN)at one of the four practices which are based across Pontefract and Knottingley supportingthe pharmacists in ensuring patients receive safe, accurate, and timelymedications. Pharmacy technicians assist with tasks such as preparing anddispensing prescriptions, managing inventory, and providing advice and supportto patients within their sphere of competency and under the supervision of aclinical pharmacist and/or General Practitioner within the GP Practice. Roleholders will write up notes and record information using system protocols andmay draft processes, guidelines, analyse data and produce reports for their ownor the use of others. Role holders have responsibility for planning theirworkload and need to be able to respond to changes in demand and priority. Their role may involve more complexscheduling and coordinating tasks across multiple stakeholders or projects.They are less closely supervised than at Level B. They may attend networks andpartnerships outside the immediate team to share good practice and resources.They are trained and competent in technical aspects of the role which mayinclude clinical procedures and require ongoing CPD.
Therole holder will be required to demonstrate that they have a range of generalexperience of working in a health and social care setting (preferably with someprimary Care knowledge) along with experience in at least one other setting, for example a variety of primarycare practices, care homes, long term care, palliative or end of life care orcommunity, hospital or industry pharmacy.
Pontefract and Knottingley Primary Care Network (PCN) comprises four established GP practices:Ashgrove Medical Centre, Friarwood Medical Centre, Northgate Medical Centre, and Stuart Road Medical Centre. Collectively, we provide high-quality healthcare services to approximately49,000 registered patientsacross the Pontefract and Knottingley district.
