A prominent children’s service provider in Sunderland seeks dedicated Peripatetic Social Workers for a full-time, permanent role. You will engage in various areas of Children’s Services, flexibly supporting peaks in demand while managing a case load. The position provides a nurturing environment with additional training and opportunities for professional development, aiming to make a difference in the lives of children and families. This role also entails an Enhanced DBS check and embraces a diverse culture.
Grade £41,771 – £47,181 per annum, plus a 2% recruitment and retention allowance and £1,239 essential car user payment.

We are seeking Peripatetic Social Workers to work across three service areas within Children’s Services – ICRT, Assessment and Locality Teams. Successful candidates will be deployed to support peaks in demand and may be assigned to each area for a number of months. You will carry a case load and work flexibly across teams.
Requirements include experience in Children’s Statutory Safeguarding Services, ingenuity, innovation and a commitment to achieving the best outcomes for children and families.
You will join a small social work team with strong support from a Team Manager and Assistant Team Manager. We promote a nurturing learning environment with high support and challenge. The Signs of Safety model of practice is embedded across the service and we offer extensive training. Additional training includes Trauma Informed Practice, Safe & Together training and our edge of care team ‘WEAR Together’ programme.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore will be subject to an Enhanced DBS check from the Disclosure and Barring Service.
