Qualifications

  • Registered and compliant with Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Child Development courses on conditions affecting development including ASD, ADHD.
  • Car driver required.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out School Based Assessments as part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Evaluate and provide tailored advice and interventions for children.
  • Develop individualised treatment plans in collaboration with families.
  • Support use of specialist equipment for home and school.
  • Communicate sensitively with children and families.
  • Participate in team meetings and supervision.

Skills

Knowledge/training in ASD strategies and interventions
Demonstrable post registration experience of working with children
Experience of using a range of assessments and treatment methods
Member of BAOT
Working in a community setting delivering children’s Occupational Therapy services

Education

Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy
Evidence of Post graduate training or equivalent experience
