Job summary

A global biopharmaceutical company is seeking a part-time Laboratory Scientist in Irvine. The role involves performing analytical tests, maintaining lab instruments, and supporting quality investigations. Ideal candidates will have a scientific background, preferably with a degree, and strong problem-solving skills. This role offers growth opportunities within a dedicated team focused on improving product quality. The working pattern is site-based, Monday to Friday, and not remote or hybrid.

Qualifications

  • HND, HNC, Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline, or relevant practical laboratory experience.
  • Experience in an analytical laboratory within a regulated environment.
  • Practical knowledge of laboratory instrumentation.
  • Experience with laboratory information systems and accurate data recording.
  • Ability to follow procedures precisely and work independently when required.
  • Strong communication skills and willingness to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine analytical tests on raw materials.
  • Maintain, calibrate and troubleshoot laboratory instruments.
  • Record and report accurate results using laboratory information systems.
  • Support investigations and corrective actions for product quality.
  • Train colleagues on methods and good laboratory practices.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects in the lab.
