Job summary

A leading eye care provider in Glasgow is seeking an experienced Optometrist for their flagship clinic in the city centre. This role requires at least 2 years of GOC qualification and preferred Independent Prescribing qualification. The Optometrist will be integral in delivering essential eye care treatments, participate in multi-disciplinary teams, and provide pre and post-operative care. A comprehensive benefits package including a £5,000 relocation package is offered, along with full training support.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 2 years qualified on the GOC.

A fantastic opportunity has become available for an optometrist to provide care to patients from our flagship clinic in Glasgow City Centre. You must be at least 2 years qualified on the GOC and ideally have the Independent Prescribing qualification.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team alongside experienced eye care professionals, including ophthalmologists, and play a crucial role in the delivery of a diverse range of clinical eye care services to our patients.

At Optical Express, no two days are the same. Your role will be varied and can include:

  • Pre and post-operative consultations for our refractive and cataract surgery patients
  • Providing clinical support to our ophthalmologists during refractive surgery.
  • Being part of our multi-disciplinary YAG capsulotomy service, delivering these procedures.
  • Providing Essential and Advanced Eye examinations for our patients.
  • Communicate with and treat patients via telemedicine.
  • Provide clinical support to the hub administrative team where required.
  • In the referral triage team, you will be responsible for reviewing incoming referrals from optometrists, GPs and other primary care routes, allocating them to the most appropriate ophthalmology clinic.
