Qualifications

  • Experience in general ophthalmology is required.
  • Subspecialty training in Oculoplastic or Vitreoretinal surgery is advantageous.
  • Registered with the New Zealand Medical Council as a Specialist Ophthalmologist.

Responsibilities

  • Work within a team of Ophthalmologists and supporting staff.
  • Participate in outpatient clinics and the operating theatre.
  • Engage in ongoing education and audit processes.

We run optometrist and nurse led glaucoma clinics, registrar led minor procedures clinics and have nurse injectors for avastin clinics.This secondary level, 400 bed accredited public hospital provides acute and elective care for our region of over 162,000 people.**About the Team/Service/ Location**Hawkes Bay Ophthalmologists have a collegial attitude and an active commitment to ongoing education. Monthly continuing medical education meetings are held and ongoing audit is actively encouraged.
