What are we looking for?

The Operational Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs that ensure the packing centre and farm have the skills and knowledge to operate machinery, follow processes, and maintain safety and quality standards. This role supports continuous improvement and compliance with industry regulations.

Key activities:

  • Develop and deliver training programs for production staff on equipment operation, safety, and quality procedures.
  • Responsible for developing new working instructions and maintaining existing ones aligned with the site’s roles and risk assessments.
  • Create and maintain training materials (manuals, SOPs).
  • Conduct hands‑on training on the shop floor for new hires and existing employees.
  • Assess competency levels and certify employees for machine operation and process compliance.
  • Monitor training effectiveness and update programs based on feedback and process changes.
  • Collaborate with supervisors and managers to identify skill gaps and training needs.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., ISO, GMP).
  • Maintain accurate training records for audits and reporting.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by embedding best practices into training.
  • Strong knowledge of production processes, machinery, and safety standards.
  • Based in manufacturing/Farm facilities; requires time on the shop floor.
  • May involve shift work to align with production schedules.
  • Requires PPE and adherence to safety protocols.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience of completing Work Instructions & Safe systems of work.
  • Knowledge of MS Word / Excel / PowerPoint.
  • IT Literate.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience in manufacturing operations and training delivery.
