Our fifth-generation Spectacles, powered by Snap OS, showcase how standalone, see-through AR glasses make playing, learning, and working better together.We’re looking for an NPI Engineer to join the Optical Engine Delivery Team at Snap Inc!**What you’ll do:**The Optical Engine (OE) Delivery Team is responsible for the early prototyping of opto-mechanical designs, characterisation and transfer to manufacture of Snap’s AR display platform. The team delivers high-quality processes, instrumentation and analysis to characterise and develop the next generation of AR products. The team works with third party contract manufacturers to deliver OE’s in volume. You will: * Help transfer designs and process’ to CM’s & manufacturing partners* Understand the mechanical design and manufacturing processes.* Analyse incoming component and sub-assembly data from component supplier contract manufacturer, and provide expertise to understand component and sub-assembly performance (e.g., dimensional).* Provide support with failure analysis including metrology and running DOE’s.* Support process development (optimising for yield, CT, etc…)**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:*** Mechanical engineering experience with a focus on metrology (including CMM and CT)* Ability to work in a dynamic environment with fast changing needs and priorities* Running analysis of mechanical designs (e.g., running DOE’s)**Minimum Qualifications:*** Extensive experience in mechanical engineering or other relevant engineering experience.* Experience with transferring mechanical designs to production* Experience with CAD design software (eg: NX,Solidworks)* Experience operating CMM and CT scanners**Preferred Qualifications:*** Experience with opto-mechanical systems* Understanding of manufacturing processes* Experience with mechanical design and rapid prototyping of jigs and fixtures* Experience in AR/VR systems* Experience with small highly toleranced components and assemblies* Software experience (eg: Python)If you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some ."Default Together" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration.
