Job description
National Trust – Wellbeing Walk Volunteers
Details

Organisation: National Trust

Location: Giant's Causeway & Carrick-A-Rede, Bushmills BT57 8SU

Salary: This position is entirely voluntary and is therefore unpaid

Are you passionate about walking and inspiring others to get active, outdoors and connect with nature? We are creating a team to support setting up and delivering walks across our beautiful coast and countryside around the Giant’s Causeway.

Do you live locally to the Causeway Coastal area? As a conservation charity we encourage volunteers mainly from the local area to reduce travel to and from our volunteering sites.

What’s involved?

  • Be involved in our walking offer, whether that’s leading the walk or helping to make sure it is safe and enjoyable. All walks have a leader and a back marker.
  • Assist staff with route planning and visitor information, with the possibility of offsite promotion and engagement with local groups
  • Walk leader training will be provided.

We want all our volunteers to feel welcome and to have an equally positive experience when volunteering with us. So, volunteers will:

  • Be provided with the necessary induction, training, equipment and reasonable adjustments to do this role well and safely
  • Be offered expenses to cover agreed travel costs between home and place of volunteering.
  • Have remote access to support, news and rotas via our volunteer website
