Job Summary

You will work independently to undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging, formulate clinical reports, and contribute to service development and innovation. The role involves working across various clinic locations, so the ability to travel independently is essential.

This role will perform investigations including a whole range of musculoskeletal ultrasound, including lumps and bumps.

Job Responsibilities
  • Undertake and interpret diagnostic imaging independently.
  • Formulate, issue and be accountable for clinical reports.
  • Promote and encourage effective professional practices in the company by example and instruction.
  • Participate in, and deliver exceptional evidence-based practice.
  • Use accepted clinical judgment to enable independent decision-making.
  • Assist and encourage service development and innovation.
  • Actively participate in clinical audits and assessment where required and liaise with referrers as needed.
  • Maintain a professional and courteous manner, upholding the reputation of the Company and observing confidentiality with patients, GPs, local GP practices, local Trusts, NHS staff and NHS information at all times.
  • Safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable adults and children in contact with the role.
  • Ensure all e‑learning modules (including safeguarding, PREVENT training, data security and other mandatory training) are kept up to date.
  • Work across various clinic locations throughout the week; the ability to travel independently is essential.
  • Assist with the training and mentoring of new sonographers.
  • Assist with clinical triage when required.
  • Assist with clinic risk assessments where needed.
  • Plan, assess, deliver and evaluate own workload in close liaison with the company administrators and clinical lead.
  • Take a proactive role in undertaking and supporting improvements of the service and individuals’ clinical practice.
Person Specification
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years experience of independent scanning and reporting.
  • Experience working within the NHS (desirable).
Qualifications
  • PG Certificate / PG Diploma in musculoskeletal ultrasound from an accredited university.
  • Professional registration with HCPC, SOR or RCT.
  • UK driving licence.
  • Pass an Enhanced DBS check.
  • Good IT skills (desirable).
