Job summary

A facilities management company is seeking Cleaning Operatives to maintain high standards of cleanliness at the University of Sussex. This role involves thorough cleaning of academic spaces, ensuring hygienic washroom facilities, and using various cleaning equipment safely. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, prior cleaning experience, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 6-10 am, in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience required.
• Successful candidate must have Right to Work in the UK.
• A DBS check will be completed.

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning of classrooms, corridors, stairwells, and communal areas.
• Carry out floor care routines using manual and powered equipment.
• Ensure washroom facilities are cleaned to a high standard.
• Use specialist cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
• Dust and wipe down surfaces including desks and windowsills.
