Job description

We’re looking for an ambitious and driven Marketing Executive to help elevate the profile of both our commercial and private client departments across our full-service law firm. This role spans the full marketing mix, with a particular emphasis on creating high‑quality, on‑brand content.

Working closely with the Director of Marketing, Marketing Head, and teams of lawyers, you’ll play a key role in strengthening and shaping the JMW brand. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys collaborating across departments and producing compelling, creative content that resonates with a wide range of audiences.

To thrive in this position, you’ll bring hands‑on experience across core marketing activities, including content creation, event support, website CMS and intranet updates, and CRM usage.

The role is based at our Manchester headquarters, with the opportunity to work closely with teams across all three of our offices.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Collate, design and distribute the weekly internal newsletter, The Briefing, ensuring timely delivery each week.
  • Create and design marketing collateral including pitch documents, capability statements, team sheets, invitations, internal newsletters and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Work with the freelance graphic designer to oversee layout, design and visual standards, ensuring all materials remain on brand.
  • Maintain and uphold brand guidelines to ensure consistency across all marketing outputs.
  • Copy‑edit and proofread marketing materials and client‑facing documents to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Use online graphic tools to support digital media content when required.
  • Coordinate staff photography for the website and work with the Digital Marketing Executive to ensure images remain up to date.
  • Arrange and obtain approval for business and vice cards as needed.
  • Liaise with the accounts team to process marketing invoices and allocate them to the correct nominals.
  • Work with the Database Officer to update the firm’s CRM (Link Legal), including exporting and setting up mailing lists.
  • Support event administration by creating invitations, preparing name badges, sign‑in sheets, presentations and handouts, and assisting with meet‑and‑greet duties on the day.
  • Arrange corporate gifts using the firm’s approved suppliers.
  • Update and upload documents to the firm’s intranet as required.
  • Support the administration of corporate football tickets by updating fixture diaries and processing tickets ahead of matches.
  • Assist the Digital Marketing Executive with uploading blogs to the website when needed.
  • Provide support on ad‑hoc marketing tasks for the wider marketing team and the PI and Clinical Negligence Marketing managers.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Required:
  • At least 2 years proven marketing experience in a similar role either within B2B or B2C.
  • Excellent IT skills including especially with design software such as InDesign and Canva as well as a good working knowledge of Word, PowerPoint and Excel and ability to use a CRM system and CMS.
  • An eye for detail with a commitment to producing high standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate confidently in a corporate setting with clients and contacts.
  • The ability to develop and maintain strong internal relationships at all levels.
  • Ability to work with initiative, enthusiasm and flexibility and adaptable and comfortable working with changing priorities and deadlines.
