We are looking for a Managing Quantity Surveyor to join our infrastructure Road team in Bedfordshire.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the Commercial, Delivery and Estimating team to deliver robust, scope‑aligned estimates and manage PDRs and line‑management duties.
  • Develop, drive and monitor procurement and subcontract strategies (NEC4 options), ensuring contracts reflect scope, payment terms, liabilities and change control.
  • Own end‑to‑end CVR, client payment applications, invoicing and timely final account issuance.
  • Manage cost/value forecasting and reconciliation (EVA, monthly cost/forecast reconciliations) through regular site engagement.
  • Identify, value and control change, and manage risks & opportunities in line with client requirements.
  • Audit and maintain project commercial records using IT systems (Oracle, CEMAR, ProjectWise), and support junior commercial and operational staff.
  • Collaborate with delivery and client teams to agree costs and implement efficiency plans across the project lifecycle.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Established commercial working for a main contractor ideally on highways projects but other large civil engineering / infrastructure experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of contract/commercial law.
  • Experience with NEC 4 forms of contract.
  • Proficient in subcontract management.
  • BSc or MSc in Quantity Surveying or equivalent experience.
  • MRICS or CICES desirable.
