A leading tire manufacturer in Carlisle is seeking two Electrical Engineering Apprentices. Successful candidates will embark on a structured 4-year apprenticeship leading to a Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance. The role requires candidates to possess 5 GCSE grades 4-9, including Mathematics and a Science. The starting salary for the first year is £16,720, and applicants must submit a covering letter and CV. We are looking to recruit two bright, enthusiastic individuals to join the maintenance team as Electrical Engineering Apprentices based at the Carlisle site. The successful candidates will spend their first year on a full-time basic technical course. The remainder of the 4-year modern apprenticeship will combine a structured in-house training programme incorporating day-release studies. This will lead to a Level 3 qualification in Engineering Maintenance. The apprenticeship will commence in September 2026 and the successful candidate will be expected to attain or already possess 5 GCSE grades 4-9 including Mathematics and a Science at grades 4-9. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate evidence of practical skills and ability. Applicants must not be in receipt of government funding for current learning (this includes any other Department for Education funded further/higher education programme including programmes funded by a student loan).
Apprenticeship Standard Title : Maintenance and Operations Engineering Technician (STO154)
Duration of Apprenticeship : 48 Months (course approx. 42 months)
Starting Salary (first year) : £16,720 per annum (£8.00 per hour)
Hours of Work : 40 hours per week
