Job description
Lifting & Safety Technician

Location: Avonmouth, BS11

Salary: £12.90 – £13.50 per hour

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a LEEA Technician to join the team operating from our depot in Bristol.

You would be responsible for the day‑to‑day running of the MGF Regional Lifting Centre and the upkeep of all lifting equipment along with certification. The duties involve the testing, maintenance, and repair of lifting and safety equipment.

Your Key Responsibilities May Include
  • Coordination and day‑to‑day running of the internal lifting centre.
  • Preparation, checking, inspecting, recording, and testing of MGF lifting equipment to LEEA standards, LOLER, and PUWER legislation.
  • Carry out fault finding procedures, repairing any defects found, and restoring equipment to a safe working condition.
  • Prioritising work to meet depot requirements.
  • Produce reports to present and discuss findings to our network of depots.
  • Issue test certificates to equipment on completion of successful testing.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and housekeeping within your area.
  • Monitoring hire fleet stock levels for the region and advising on any overall shortfalls in kit and components.
  • Inspecting, repairing, and maintaining a varied range of hire fleet equipment including chain blocks, genie lifts, and vacuum handling machines.
The Core Requirements For This Role Are
  • You must hold a current LEEA foundation accreditation or above (or be prepared to work towards LEEA General level).
  • Strong technical ability.
  • Excellent communication skills.
