We are seeking an experienced Legionella Risk Assessor to join our growing team. This role involves delivering compliance services across a broad spectrum of premises, including commercial, industrial, and process environments. The successful candidate will have hands on experience in water hygiene management, implementing water monitoring programmes, and producing schematic drawings of water systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive Legionella risk assessments on hot, cold, and process water systems in accordance with HSE ACOP L8 and HSG274.
- Produce accurate, detailed risk assessment reports using company approved software.
- Develop schematic drawings of water systems to support compliance and operational documentation.
- Implement and oversee water monitoring programmes, including sampling, testing, and reporting.
- Identify, document, and communicate remedial actions to mitigate Legionella risks.
- Advise clients on compliance requirements and best practice for Legionella control.
- Review and update risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) as needed.
- Maintain assessment equipment and report any defects promptly.
- Conduct pre use safety checks on company vehicles, ladders, and tools.
- Collaborate with colleagues to deliver a professional, client focused service.
- Stay up to date with industry standards and maintain professional competence.

Hours of Work:37.5 hrs per week (office hours)
Ideal Candidate
- Third level qualification in mechanical engineering, plumbing, or a water related discipline (NVQ, BTEC, or equivalent).
- Recognised professional qualification in Legionella management, such as City & Guilds WMSoc, BOHS, or equivalent.
- Extensive, hands on experience in Legionella risk assessments across diverse industries and premises types.
- Proven ability to implement water monitoring programmes and produce schematic water system drawings.
- Excellent IT and report writing skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self motivated, proactive, and adaptable to different client environments.
