Overview

Tilbury Pioneer Academy is part of the Gateway Learning Community (GLC) – a partnership of five academies located in Tilbury and Chadwell St. Mary, Thurrock. We are a vibrant, innovative and highly successful organisation, the place of choice to work and learn. The Academy is looking to appoint a classroom‑based Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to support teachers and students across all year groups.

Responsibilities

Support the class teacher and SENCo by planning and delivering small group activities tailored to students, particularly those with SEND, to promote academic progress and emotional wellbeing. Observe, record and report on student learning to inform instruction. Work flexibly to take direction from teachers, provide classroom support in literacy, numeracy and behaviour and help students who are falling behind. Use initiative, good organisational skills and ICT to contribute to the high achievement ethos of the Academy.

Qualifications
  • Good standard of education; Maths and English GCSE grades A‑C or equivalent.
  • Excellent classroom support skills in literacy, numeracy and behavioural needs.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting children with additional needs and challenging behaviours.
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal skills and good knowledge of ICT.
  • Commitment to high achievement for students and staff.
