Job summary

A leading educational provider in Liverpool seeks a dedicated Learning and Support Worker. You will provide one-on-one support, nurture an inclusive environment, and help learners achieve their potential. The ideal candidate should have experience in supporting the learning of individuals and groups, be proficient in conducting assessments, and hold relevant qualifications. We have a great opportunity available to join Novus ottour prison education provider at HMP Altcourse, working as: a Learning and Support Worker. This role is offered on a permanent, full-time basis, working 37 hours per week.

Site Information

HMP Altcourse is a category B local prison in the Fazakerley area of Liverpool in Merseyside, England, which receives sentenced and remand adult male prisoners, as well as young offenders. The prison’s aim is to create an environment in which staff and prisoners feel safe. The prison’s mission is to provide a secure, safe, and rehabilitive environment that encourages positive change and prepares inmates for a successful reintegration into society.

  • Have experience of successful working in an effective multi-disciplinary team
  • Hold Hidden Difficulties Level 2 or equivalent (or be willing to work towards within an agreed timeframe)
  • Hold Level 2 qualifications in Literacy and Numeracy (or be willing to work towards within an agreed timeframe)
