Overview

Our management teams set the tone of the store, delivering excellent product availability, safety standards, and seamless daily operations. As a Lead Nightshift Manager, you’ll empower a team to raise the bar for customers and colleagues alike, turning purpose into action.

What you’ll be doing
  • Lead and manage a small team of managers overnight, ensuring replenishment activities are ready for the next day.
  • Plan key trading activities and events in partnership with the store leadership team.
  • Handle people management duties: pay, scheduling, training, communication, performance, absence, and disciplinary actions.
  • Take full accountability for the store overnight, modelling high standards and coaching for efficiency.
  • Ensure the health and safety of all colleagues working your shift.

Nightshift managers work full‑time hours over four nights and receive a £4,500 premium on top of their base salary (shift 22:00 – 08:00).

What makes a great lead nightshift manager
  • Comfortable with nightshift work and aware of its physical and mental impact.
  • Ambitious, customer‑centric, and inspirational for team growth.

  • Capable of leading independently in the absence of senior management.
  • Focus on high performance, efficiency and engagement.
  • Proficient with data, KPI interpretation and improvement.
  • Champion inclusivity within the team and workplace.
  • Able to manage employee relations, including disciplinary and performance issues.
Essential Criteria
  • Leadership experience with large teams in fast‑paced, customer‑focused settings.
  • Track record of delivering exceptional customer experiences and measurable KPI improvements.
  • Proficiency in handling complex people matters with fairness and sound judgement.
  • Operational leadership experience (retail, hospitality, or food service).
  • Evidence of leading change and embedding new ways of working.
  • Desirable: experience with night shifts in high‑volume operational environments.
Benefits
  • Salary commensurate with experience and store complexity.
  • Discount card: 10% off after four weeks; higher discounts on selected days.
  • Annual bonus scheme based on store performance.
