Job summary

A public infrastructure organization is looking for a Principal Engineer (Highway Structures - Bridges) to oversee asset management strategies and ensure the safety and performance of nearly 900 bridges. The role requires a Chartered Civil Engineer with substantial experience in engineering design and people management. The ideal candidate will contribute to the Trust’s strategic goals and engage in inspections and risk management. Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of highway structures and infrastructure management.
  • Demonstrable experience in cross-functional working.

Responsibilities

  • Accountable for managing significant infrastructure risk.
  • Contribute to the Trust’s Asset Management Strategies.
  • Deliver the Trust’s Public Road Bridge Inspection programme.

Skills

Chartered Civil Engineer (C.Eng MICE)
Extensive experience in engineering design and construction
Understanding of CDM Regulations
People management experience
Proficient in MS Office

Education

Professional qualification in Civil Engineering

Tools

GIS or other mapping systems
