Qualifications

  • Experience of pot wash duties preferred, but not essential.
  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable/good standard of written English.
  • Similar experience in a customer or food preparation environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain hygiene, safety, and cleanliness standards in the kitchen.
  • Help the chefs with some food preparation.
  • Operate and clean all kitchen equipment including the industrial dishwasher.

Contract: Full Time , Permanent
Salary: 20582
Hours: 38 per week

A co-educational private day and boarding school in the village of Kimbolton, Cambridgeshire. Catering for about 1200 students and teachers daily. We offer a core feeding of Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner with a good amount of hospitality throughout the year. The location is split between the senior school and Prep school down the road. This is a 7 day a week operation so work patterns would be 5 over 7 days.

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Kitchen Porter to join our established & friendly team at our prestigious location in Huntingdon.

You’ll be playing a big part in keeping the kitchen hygienic, safe, and up to our very high standards of cleanliness.

  • Experience of pot wash duties would be an advantage
  • Great team player
  • Be able to help the Chefs with some food prep
  • Ensure high standards of cleanliness at all times
  • Clean and maintain all kitchen equipment
  • Clean allocated pieces of heavy catering equipment using instructions and cleaning materials including air filter and extraction systems.
  • Operate industrial dishwasher

We are looking for:

  • Kitchen Porter experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • Organisation Skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
  • Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
  • Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred
