Junior Heating Engineer Domestic Heat Pumps

Location: Our office and depot is located in Maidenhead (SL6), however willingness to travel is required for this role (expenses paid)

The role

As a Junior Heating Engineer with Rendesco Home Energy, you will assist with surveying, installing, commissioning and maintaining heat pump systems at residential properties. With the support and guidance of an experienced Home Energy Heating Engineer, you will gain broad and comprehensive experience in delivering heat pumps to homeowners, including assessing the suitability of a home for a heat pump, quoting and designing a system, and plumbing and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations to become a well‑rounded heating engineer.

Your Work Will Include
  • Supporting with Surveying homes, ensuring the right information is captured in the home to evaluate, quote and deliver heat pumps and batteries
  • Delivering equipment to customers homes when needed, working with the wider team and Rendesco’s stores manager to ensure the right equipment arrives to site on time for installation
  • Assisting with Installing heat pumps, heating interface units (HIU) and the relevant connections, fittings and system components, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards, to deliver clean heating and energy savings to customers
  • Collaborating with colleagues across departments, including Engineering and Maintenance, to support a seamless customer journey
About You
  • Some demonstratable experience in plumbing and heating, and ready to take your next step up into the world of renewables and heat pumps.
  • Technical knowledge, including an understanding of domestic hydraulic installations to meet performance and safety requirements.
  • Understanding of hot water regulations and guidelines including the UKs Building Regulations Part G or equivalent.
  • Track record in renewables, infrastructure, or an understanding of the challenges and practices associated with domestic installations.
  • Innovative approach, considering how we can do things differently to grow our business.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills, capable of diagnosing and resolving issues quickly.
  • Willingness to travel to various work locations, including extended stays away from home to meet project demands.
  • Desire to learn new skills and develop your career.
  • Team player with experience working in a team of developers and collaborating with colleagues across other departments.
Education

NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing, Heating or Refrigeration or Similar (required).

  • An understanding of heating systems and associated pumps/valves and safety requirements.

  • Good Team Player, comfortable with working in a team environment, and taking directions from senior engineers.
  • Motivation and ambitious to learn and develop your skills in installation, plumbing and heating.
