Working under the guidance of the Senior Planner, to support all forms of project planning and reporting across the business. This is a development role with significant opportunities internal and planning software training provided.
Role requirements
- To work in accordance with WESL procedures, policies and standard working practices.
- Experience in fabrication/heavy industry (preferred, but not essential)
- HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent qualification
- Not essential to have previous planning experience, but someone who is interested in developing/progressing in this area.
Key Tasks
- Assist the Senior Planner in day-to-day planning and reporting activities.
- Develop, produce and maintain project plans in Primavera (P6).
- Develop reports directly from Primavera and/or using other software to aid in its functionality and understanding.
- Using Microsoft tools (Excel, Word etc.) to create planning outputs and documentation at the right level, for the right people, which must be understandable to its stakeholders.
- Identifying and communicating potential planning issues and risks to the Senior Planner or Project Manager.
- Identifying and communicating potential planning changes to the Senior Planner or Project Manager and help to provide potential mitigation plans.
- Work closely with Construction supervisors to help develop, progress and maintain plans.
- Develop Primavera knowledge and attend internal and external training provided.
- Review and understand fabrication drawings and project documentation.
- Review project processes and provide inputs and potential improvement opportunities.
- Provide support and produce estimates based on fabrication drawings and project documentation.
- Work to and comply to company procedures.

Role Requirements
- Experience in the fabrication/Heavy manufacture industry is preferred but not essential.
- Degree qualified (Mechanical, civil or structural design or equivalent).
- Experience with design analysis software (mechanical & structural).
- 37.5 hrs per week working 0900 – 1700 hrs Monday-Thursday. Early finish at 1500 hrs. every Friday where hours worked prior.
