Job summary

A financial services firm in London is seeking a Junior Compensation Accountant. The successful candidate will support the Compensation Accounting Manager, focusing on financial reporting and development of accounting skills. Qualifications

  • School leavers with relevant work experience or fresh graduates are welcome.
  • Financial services experience is desired but not essential.
  • Ability to handle challenging situations sensitively.

Responsibilities

  • Manage integrity of Compensation related P&L and Balance Sheet.
  • Work closely with the Senior Broker Compensation Accountant.
  • Calculate and post revenue-related monthly bonus accruals.
  • Assist in preparing timely management information reports.
  • Identify and implement improvements within Compensation Accounting processes.

JuniorCompensationAccountant Mainpurposeofthe role:

  • To fully support the Compensation Accounting Manager to cover all aspects of CompensationAccountingprimarilyfortheEMEAoperationswithviewtomeetingall internal and external financial reporting deadlines.
  • The successful candidate shall make an important contribution to the continued developmentoftheCompensationAccountingteamwhilstconstantlyraisingthebarin terms of quality and control.
  • Thisisagreatopportunityforschool leaverswithrelevantworkexperienceorfresh graduates who are eager to begin their accounting career.
Responsibilities
  • ToensuretheintegrityofComprelatedP&LandBalanceSheetonatimelybasisacrossthe EMEA operations of the Group through monthly postings to the GL followed by analytical review and reconciliations.
  • WorkcloselywithSeniorBrokerCompensationAccountanttoensureallBroker Compensation Accounting matters are closed out on a timely basis.
  • Workcloselywithrelevantstakeholderstoensuremattersareclosedoutonatimely basis.
  • Calculatingandpostingrevenuerelatedmonthlybonusaccruals.Reviewingandadjusting accruals to be in line with forecasted desk pay out.
  • Assistinpreparationoftimelymanagementinformationincludingdeskandbroker performance reports.
  • EnsureComprelatedFXexposureismanaged,controlledandreportedonatimely basis.
  • WorkcloselywithcounterpartsinUS/Asiaonrelevantmattersandsharebestpractice.
  • IdentifyandimplementimprovementswithinCompensationAccountingprocessesthrough development and concise documentation of policies and procedures.
  • SupportCompensationAccountingManageronad-hocissues.
  • BealerttoConductRiskissues,specificallytheriskofharmtoclientinterests,market integrity and/or competition in financial markets due to inappropriate practices or behaviours across the firm.
  • Financialservicesexperiencedesiredbutnotessential.
  • Goodwrittenandverbalcommunicationskillswiththeabilitytointeractwithstakeholders throughout the Group with view to developing and maintaining strong relationships.
  • Possessapro-activeattitudewithanabilitytotakeresponsibility.
  • Supervisoryskillswouldbeadvantageous.
  • Abilitytomeetdeadlines,organiseandprioritise.
