Job description

IT Manager - £55,000-£65,000 - Hybrid NI - Growing SME

A rapidly scaling Northern Ireland business is seeking an ambitious and hands‑on IT Manager to take ownership of their technology function and lead the next phase of their digital transformation.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a business that’s doubled in size over the last two years, is continuing to expand across the UK & Ireland, and now needs a dedicated IT leader to build structure, stability and strategy for the future.

The Opportunity

You’ll be the go‑to person for all things IT – shaping the roadmap, improving systems, strengthening security, managing vendors, and helping the organisation move from reactive firefighting into a mature, well‑run IT environment.

This role offers high autonomy, huge variety, and the chance to make a measurable impact across every department. Perfect for someone who wants ownership, challenge and the freedom to build an IT function the right way.

What You’ll Lead
  • Developing the IT strategy and roadmap aligned with long‑term business goals
  • Improving infrastructure stability, security and resilience
  • Managing key suppliers, including MSPs and ERP/BI partners
  • Overseeing Office 365 estate, access, governance and security
  • Owning disaster recovery, backups and business continuity planning
  • Leading process improvements and maximising ERP capability
  • Providing hands‑on support where needed (early days will be mixed)
  • Line‑managing a Data Analyst and shaping future IT team growth
  • Communicating technical ideas in simple, clear language across the business
What You’ll Bring

We’re looking for someone who is both strategically minded and willing to roll up their sleeves:

Essential Experience
  • Strong background in infrastructure, networking, O365 and security
  • Confident managing 3rd‑party MSPs & vendor relationships
  • Experience with ERP systems (any – K8 is a bonus but not required)
  • Ability to design and implement IT processes, policies and governance
  • Skilled in explaining technical concepts to non‑technical teams
Personal Qualities
  • High energy, hunger and ambition
  • Proactive mindset with a desire to build, improve and modernise
  • Approachable, collaborative and good at building trust
  • Comfortable working in a growing, fast‑moving SME environment
Working Model
  • Hybrid: Predominantly on site, but adaptable to personal circumstances.
  • Multi‑site involvement (HQ + one additional NI location)
  • Grown‑up culture focused on trust, communication and autonomy
What’s On Offer
  • £55,000-£65,000 salary depending on experience
  • Full ownership of the IT function
  • A leadership voice in company‑wide strategy
  • Opportunity to introduce structure, process and best practice
  • A role with real impact, visibility and long‑term progression
