Overview

At Perkins&Will, our practice spans Architecture, Urban Design, Interior Design, Master Planning and beyond, enabling a multi-disciplinary approach. We are a global studio with twenty-seven studios, focused on design excellence and delivering impactful spaces.

London office is recruiting for an experienced Intermediate Architectural Technologist with a strong background in corporate interiors and workplace sectors. Successful candidates should have 5+ years of technical experience across all RIBA stages in professional practice, with experience in base build projects and interior fit-outs. The role requires the ability to work as part of a technical team and to manage technical packages through all design stages.

Responsibilities
  • Intermediate level of experience and technical knowledge, with at least 5 years of experience managing and developing detailing and detailed project packages, including on-site coordination.
  • Contribute to the development of the technical team, including detailing, NBS production, regulatory compliance, and tender/construction packages.
  • Develop and manage drawing packages, assisting in the creation of design drawings and documents.
  • Contribute to the development of technical expertise, including detailing, NBS production, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare excellent specifications using NBS.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of all RIBA work stages and the level of detail required for each stage.
  • Ensure designs comply with Building Regulations and planning approvals; work within a multidisciplinary team for coordination and clash management.
  • Investigate and propose suitable maintenance procedures and feasibility considerations.
  • Research and specify products, materials, and finishes for bespoke furniture and coordinate with IT and electrical requirements.
  • Assist Designers and Architects in reviewing construction work on site.
  • Represent the practice in a professional manner and collaborate with the in-house London team and global studios.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
  • A degree in Architectural Technology (technical detailing).
  • Excellent Revit experience (minimum 3 years) with a technical focus.
  • Strong design and technical detailing skills.
  • Experience with family creation and creation of schedules (REVIT).
  • Good communication, interpersonal and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of joinery, furniture systems, products, finishes and materials through ongoing research.
  • Ability to build relationships at all levels, internally and externally.
  • Working knowledge of Building Regulations, British Standards and other statutory legislation.
