Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Support project controls by preparing and monitoring schedules.

  • Collaborate on risk management and reporting.

AECOM is a global infrastructure consulting firm dedicated to delivering a better world. We invite STEM graduates to join our Buildings and Places team and work within the Integrated Programme Controls (IPC) Team to develop innovative project controls solutions across the UK.

Job Description

As a Graduate in the IPC Team you will support projects in a range of sectors, including Rail, Aviation, Highways, Water, Power, Defence, Pharmaceutical and Real Estate. Your work will span the entire project lifecycle – from identifying needs and cost planning to procurement, construction and building use – giving you exposure to high‑profile clients and multidisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support robust project controls by preparing, updating, and monitoring schedules and status reports.
  • Monitor and report on planned spend, actual spend and estimates to complete.
  • Assist in the development and updating of performance measurement and earned value plans.
  • Support change control management, governance of the Control account, and corrective action processes.
  • Contribute to data analytics, including collection, analysis, dashboard development, and data quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on risk management, developing risk frameworks, monitoring, and reporting.
  • Maintain accurate, robust project plans and schedules, including critical path monitoring and milestone tracking.
  • Assist with cost control activities such as budgeting, forecasting, cost model development, and cost‑saving identification.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (minimum 2.1 or equivalent).
  • Membership of a relevant professional body (desirable).
  • Relevant work experience is advantageous but not essential.

Security Clearance

Successful candidates must have the right to work in the UK. All candidates will undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) as required.
