Hospital Based Bilingual Patient Advocate

Join Elevate Patient Financial Solutions® as a full‑time Hospital Based Bilingual Patient Advocate and help guide individuals through their healthcare financial journey. This onsite position is located in West Chester Township, OH, with a Monday‑Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.

Pay Range

$19.00/hr – $25.00/hr (actual pay based on skills and experience)

In 2024, our Advocates helped over 823,000 patients secure Medicaid coverage. Your role will be vital in connecting uninsured patients to programs that cover their medical expenses.

Job Summary

The purpose of this position is to connect uninsured hospital patients to federal, state, and county assistance programs. You will evaluate eligibility, complete applications, and provide… (continued within responsibilities list below)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Screen uninsured hospital patients at the bedside to determine eligibility for assistance programs.
  • Complete applications and follow through to approval.
  • Document cases accurately and timely in MPower and hospital systems.
  • Provide exceptional customer service at all times.
  • Participate in ongoing training and apply learned content to patient interactions.
  • Maintain an assigned work queue of patient accounts.
  • Collaborate with hospital staff, case managers, social workers, and financial counselors.
  • Answer incoming calls, make outbound calls, and track all paperwork necessary for enrollment and renewal.
  • Maintain structured and timely contact with applicants and responsible agencies by phone or other scheduled methods.
  • Assist applicants in gathering additional documentation, meeting appointment dates, and arranging transportation.
  • Request home visits as needed to obtain documentation.
  • Provide clients with timely updates on approvals and denials per established protocols.
  • Attend required training to stay informed on current rules and regulations for governmental programs.
  • Ensure regular and timely attendance.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior hospital experience preferred.
  • Ability to adapt to changing processes, systems, and programs.
  • Professional experience with state and federal programs.
  • Critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to navigate a hospital setting during scheduled shifts.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook.
  • Effective oral and written communication in fluent Spanish and English.
  • Multitasking ability to meet performance metrics in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Must dress per the client’s dress code.
