Job summary

A well-established engineering company in Ashton-Under-Lyne is expanding its machining department and seeking Manual and CNC Horizontal Borer Setter/Operators. You will operate and set up horizontal boring and milling machines, working from precision drawings. Successful candidates will have strong experience and are expected to adhere to safety protocols while contributing to team objectives. Both day and night shifts are available, with competitive pay based on skill level and overtime opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in machining medium to heavy components to precision standards.
• Willing to work overtime when required.

Responsibilities

• Set and operate horizontal boring or milling machines.
• Interpret and work from customer engineering drawings.
• Complete quality and production documentation.
• Maintain machine cleanliness and safety.

Skills

Experience setting and operating manual horizontal boring machines

Ability to work from customer drawings and specifications

Confident in self-inspection

Experience setting, operating and programming CNC machines

Familiarity with Cimco CAD/CAM or Fusion
