31.25 hours per week 8:30am - 3:30pm, Monday - Friday (Term time only)

Scale 5 points 9 to 12 - Actual Salary £19,248- £20,197 per annum (depending on experience)

This post is initially for a fixed term until 31st August 2026, with a view to it becoming a permanent position thereafter.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen at Terling C of E Primary School for an inspirational and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our highly motivated and supportive team. Main duties will involve covering PPA using pre-prepared lesson plans, running interventions and supporting children's wellbeing by providing pastoral support.

As part of the HLTA position, you will be expected to also undertake 30 minutes of Midday duties every day during the lunch hour (between 12:15pm and 1:15pm).

The successful candidate will:

  • Have already completed the HLTA qualification or NVQ level 4 or equivalent
  • Have GCSE grades A - C or equivalent in English and Maths
  • Have excellent classroom practice with the knowledge and understanding to support pupil progress across both KS1 and KS2
  • Have knowledge of Trauma informed practice
  • Demonstrate a strong, confident manner in the classroom
  • Be able to challenge and support children of all abilities across the curriculum
  • Show a passion for the development of the whole child and a keen interest in Pastoral support
  • Have high expectations of themselves, colleagues and children
  • Be able to work effectively in a team
  • Be keen to engage in all areas of school life
  • Be committed to the belief that everyone can succeed
