A community support organization in Glasgow is seeking compassionate volunteers for their helpline team to provide vital support to individuals affected by the justice system. Volunteers will commit to one day a week, receive comprehensive training, and become integral members of a supportive team. Adaptable and non-judgmental individuals aged 18 and above are encouraged to apply, as this role offers a chance to make a meaningful difference while gaining valuable experience.

We’re looking for compassionate, reliable volunteers to join our Next Chapter Scotland Helpline team.
This service supports people and families affected by the justice system offering information and signposting when it’s needed most.
You’ll be part of a supportive, trauma-informed team helping people take the next step in their journey.
At Next Chapter Scotland, we support everyone, regardless of their offence type. We are therefore looking for people who are:
The role is home based. You will require a private space to be able to take calls without being overheard. When training takes place in person, it is likely to be in Glasgow. However, online options will be available. Travel expenses will also be covered.
2 full days on induction training will be provided at the outset. All team members are provided with safeguarding and trauma-awareness training. Ongoing training will be provided to all volunteers.
Minimum age: 18
The role does not require a PVG. We will provide a phone. However, you will need access to a computer and Wifi in order to use the telephone system.
We are asking volunteers to commit to 1 consistent day per week. Volunteers (aged 18-25) taking part in this opportunity are eligible to claim Saltire Awards hours for their activity.
