Job Summary

SaferHandCare is a reputable provider of compassionate and high‑quality care services, based in Kent. This temporary role is for a Healthcare Assistant in a Sevenoaks home, working long days and overnight shifts with a pay rate of £13.68‑£18 per hour.

Responsibilities
  • Assist residents with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Support residents with mobility and transfer, using appropriate equipment when required.
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to all residents.
  • Listen to patients’ concerns and provide empathy and support.
  • Encourage social interaction and engagement in activities.
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding, ensuring dietary needs are met.
  • Monitor and record fluid and food intake.
  • Administer or assist with medication as per training and care plans.
  • Monitor and record vital signs and report any concerns to senior staff members.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents.
  • Clean and sterilise equipment used for patient care.
  • Follow infection control protocols and procedures.
  • Always promote independence and dignity.
  • Always ensure patient privacy and confidentiality.
  • Treat patients with kindness, dignity, and compassion.
  • Respect patients’ cultural and personal preferences.
  • Follow and update care plans.
  • Work collaboratively with health professionals and family members.
Qualifications
  • Previous experience in health‑care role within a home setting or domiciliary care.
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care desirable.
  • Completion of the Care Certificate desirable.
  • A compassionate, patient and caring nature.
  • Ability and flexibility to work in a fast‑changing environment.
  • Being dependable and committed to patient care.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A willingness to undergo relevant training and development.
  • Enhanced Adults and Children DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the United Kingdom.
  • A full UK Driver’s Licence desirable.
