Job summary

A global construction leader is seeking a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor for their HS2 team in London. This role includes supporting the Health & Safety Manager to manage health and safety compliance and standards on-site. Candidates should have experience in Construction Health & Safety and relevant certifications. The position is for night shifts and weekends, offered as a Fixed Term Contract until June 2027.

Qualifications

  • Experience in relevant field of Construction / Infrastructure Health & Safety.
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate is required.
  • Membership of IOSH - Tech IOSH is preferred.
  • A diploma or degree in Safety, Health and Environmental or equivalent is needed.
  • Membership of IOSH - Grad IOSH is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Support Health & Safety Manager in managing H&S for SCS activities.
  • Implement H&S Management System (HSMS) to ensure compliance.
  • Advise on practical implementation of H&S policies.
  • Assist with development of Health and Safety Management plans.
  • Provide advice on preventing accidents, incidents, and ill health.

We are looking for a Health, Safety & Wellbeing Advisor to join our HS2 team in London.

We have 3 vacancies for Health, Safety, and Wellbeing Advisors here at SCS JV.

These roles will be covering night shifts and weekends and will be offered on a Fixed Term Contract until June 2027.

Supporting the Health & Safety Manager in the management of H&S for SCS activities, including the implementation of the H&S Management System (HSMS) to ensure compliance with OHSAS 18001:2007 certification and with Works Information.

The position plays the key role in helping to establish and maintain the highest and where possible, new industry Health and Safety standards for the project.

What you’ll do:
  • Understand the SCS Health & Safety Policies and Processes and statutory requirements as they affect the SCS operations and ensure that the requirements are implemented
  • Provide operational and functional management advice on the practical implementation of the company’s H&S policies and processes including external stakeholders such as customers if necessary
  • Assist H&S Manager or delegate and Contract Management in understanding stakeholders’ (internal and external) aims, priorities and risks with regards to H&S
  • Assist, where needed, with the development of Health and Safety Management plans if applicable and coordination of review
  • Provide operational and functional management with advice on the prevention of accidents, incidents and ill health
