Job summary

A leading coffee equipment firm in Lisburn is seeking a Warehouse Operative for a full-time, permanent role. The position involves refurbishing machinery, ensuring quality, adhering to health and safety standards, and working collaboratively in a team. The ideal candidate will have relevant experience and qualifications in electrical engineering and be able to work under pressure while maintaining excellent communication skills. £26,000 – £29,000.00 per annum

Purpose of Role

To ensure the efficient refurbishment of Matthew Algie Equipment. Making sure the quality of all aspects of work carried out is to the highest standard possible, whilst constantly striving towards departmental aims, paying particular attention to: Quality, performance and reducing sub‑component usage where possible.

Key Responsibilities
  • Machine preparation, testing and calibration: Bench test all new equipment, calibrate machines for installation.
  • Refurbishment of machine sub‑components to the highest standards for use in the refurbishment of various machines in the repair centre. Pass quality checks carried out by RC Supervisors, monitor and improve processes, aim for performance targets to lead to grade promotions.
  • Maximise efficiency and minimise wastage: Record all work accurately, complete refurbishment to required standard, fill out paperwork correctly, note any shortages on paperwork.
  • Adhere to all Health and Safety rules and procedures: Meet all legal and Health and Safety requirements, report accidents to a member of Production Management, report potential hazards as soon as possible.
  • Hygiene: Adhere to the Company Hygiene Policy, keep factory tidy and organised, ready for third‑party audits.
  • Teamwork: Be fully aware of department performance, treat all staff with respect, involve in broader department activities, seek areas for improvement, attend regular appraisal meetings.
  • Communication: Participate actively in team briefs, communicate performance goals and improvement ideas to line manager.
  • Administration: Carry out administration activities professionally, maintain an audit trail for external auditors.
Experience

Previous experience in a similar role such as in a repair centre or manufacturing environment and use of hand tools.

Skills / Knowledge
  • Qualification or certificate in ONC Electrical & Engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or equivalent.
  • Strong working knowledge of Health & Safety standards within a fast‑moving manufacturing environment, or willingness to learn.
Personal Attributes
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to build rapport across the organisation.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good manual dexterity, attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to follow direction and work within agreed parameters.
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and customer timeframes; work independently and as part of a team; flexible to meet team and customer needs.
  • Punctual, strong work ethic, personal motivation and enthusiasm.
