Medway City Vets are seeking a Head Veterinary Surgeon to join their friendly and supportive practice in Rochester. As our Head Veterinary Surgeon, you will have a say in how we continue to grow and develop as a practice. By liaising with the Practice Director, Head Nurse, and Regional Director, you will have the opportunity to decide what our practice priorities are, and to ensure that these priorities are carried out on a daily basis within our clinical team.

Additionally, you will be responsible for line‑managing the veterinary team (performing check‑ins, helping with competency and salary review), and writing the vets' rota (liaising with the PD). People leadership is important to us, to help empower our team!

Our team at Medway has collectively over 100 years of experience. Your role can vary depending on your interests however the general caseload at present is 50% consults and 50% surgery.

We want to give you the chance to talk to us and offer you the chance to ‘try us before you join us’. We would love you to come and spend an hour or two with us in practice to get a feel of what we’re about.

Rota: 40 hours a week across 4 days but we can accommodate part time. Our supportive team are able to offer flexibility with your working life, whether it be to fit in your hobbies or childcare. We want to hear what would work for you.

We are located in Rochester and are commutable from Chatham, Rainham, Sittingbourne, Whitstable, Sheerness, Minster on sea, Maidstone, Gravesend, Dartford, Faversham, Ashford, Staplehurst and other locations in London and Kent.
