Overview

We’re looking for a visionary leader to take on one of the most critical planning roles in our organisation. As Head of Waste Planning, you'll be responsible for developing our next five-year strategic plans for wastewater services - including sewerage, treatment, and bioresources - balancing performance, cost, risk, and asset management expectations.

This is a rare opportunity to lead transformation in a business where two-thirds of our service delivery is rooted in wholesale wastewater. You'll be one of only two senior leaders entrusted with planning all wholesale activities across the business, working alongside the Head of Supply Planning.

What you'll do
  • Lead the development of our next five-year wastewater investment plan.
  • Responsible for the wastewater investment planning, you and your team will collaborate with strategy and finance teams to optimise our investment plan and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Using the asset management framework to shape the individual discipline-level plans, incorporating resilience, risk and uncertainty.
  • Represent the business in regulatory submissions and audits, including Ofwat and external technical/financial reviews.
  • Drive cultural change and process development to meet evolving regulatory expectations.
  • Provide senior leadership across the business
  • Collaborate closely with delivery partners to ensure the successful execution of the current wastewater programme.
What you'll need
  • Appropriate technical qualification and experience with the ability to oversee complex delivery programmes.
  • Proven track record in business transformation and planning.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder engagement skills, including regulatory liaison.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and influencing abilities.
  • The confidence to make or influence decisions at the appropriate times.
What you'll receive
  • A defined contribution pension scheme of up to 20% combined.
  • Life assurance of up to eight times your salary.
  • Career progression and professional development opportunities.
  • 25 days' holiday rising to 28 with length of service.
  • The opportunity to buy up to 10 days' holiday and sell up to five every year.
  • Cashback and discounts from more than 3,000 retailers.
  • Enhanced family leave and pay arrangements.
  • A £1,000 referral fee if you recommend someone to work for us.
