A construction and maintenance provider in Glasgow is seeking a Head of Procurement for a full-time permanent position. This role requires managing strategic planning and the procurement function while ensuring compliance with legislative frameworks. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a senior role within a complex business environment and a degree in a relevant subject. We are currently recruiting for a Head of Procurement to join our Legal and Commercial division. The Head of Procurement is a member of the Extended Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to the Divisional Director Legal & Commercial.
As the Head of Procurement, you will be responsible for managing the strategic planning, delivery, and management of the procurement function within the City Building Group which comprises two separate companies, City Building (Glasgow) and City Building (Contracts) LLP. The successful candidate will ensure that all strategic and tactical procurement activities fully comply with the governing procurement and legislative framework while operating within the financial framework of City Building.
City Building is undergoing a period of transformation to the way it delivers services, maximising efficiencies and implementing new systems to support organisational transformation. This will require a review of all procurement activity within the Group and the development of a structure suitable for supporting the needs of the business and any operational transformation. The post holder will ensure the procurement function, both strategic and tactical, supports the needs of the business, service delivery, and transformation.
The successful candidate will have extensive experience in a senior role within a complex business environment, with practical experience of applying strategic planning and performance tools. The Head of Procurement will have a proven track record in collaborative working that produces results, developing structures and systems which support the attainment of organisational goals.
Candidates for this role will hold a degree in a relevant subject or an equivalent qualification or experience.
You will be required to have a flexible approach to this role. Your contracted hours of work will be 35 hours per week to be worked to suit the needs of the business.
This is a full-time permanent position.
