Head of Method and Tooling (Product Owner)

Location – London, York, Norwich, or Flexible Hybrid

Reports to – Group Transformation Director

Purpose of the Role

This role is accountable for ownership and continuous improvement of client’s transformation methodologies, standards and tooling. Acting as a product owner for the client’s Change Framework, Change Management Business Standard (CMBS), and associated transformation tools, the role ensures the client’s transformation practice is modern, user‑friendly, and supports consistent delivery excellence. As a ‘Head of’ within the Group Transformation team, you will be expected nood having deep experience operating in Change & Transformation, with the key skills, knowledge and competencies to maximise the value from Transformation across its Group transformation portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as Product Owner for the client’s Change Framework, CMBS and related methodologies.
  • Continuously evolve transformation methods and standards, ensuring alignment with industry best practice.
  • Own and maintain the client’s transformation tooling ecosystem (e.g. PlanView, JIRA, Power BI dashboards).
  • Partner with CIO, PMOs and Transformation Directors to ensure tooling supports effective portfolio management and reporting.
  • Embed consistent training, guidance and adoption for Change Framework, CMBS and associated standards.
  • Lead design and testing of AI agents to enhance transformation productivity and governance compliance.
  • Facilitate user communities in capturing feedback and driving continuous improvement of methods and tooling.
Skills and Technical Competencies
  • Deep understanding of portfolio, programme and change management methodologies.
  • Experience in product ownership or stewardship of enterprise‑wide standards and tooling.
  • Technical proficiency in PlanView, JIRA, Confluence, and dashboard tooling (Power BI, Tableau).
  • Proven ability to translate complex governance and methodology requirements into user‑friendly guidance.
  • Excellent facilitation and engagement skills, able to convene and guide cross‑functional user groups.
Experience and Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience in transformation, PMO leadership, or methodology/tooling ownership.
  • Proven success in embedding enterprise‑level frameworks and tools in large organisations.
  • Familiarity with frameworks such as MSP, MoP, PRINCE2, P3O, SAFe or PMI.
  • Experience working solen fetrated operating models with global or multi‑market scope.
