Job summary

A STEM outreach organisation is seeking a Head of Delivery to lead and shape its outreach programme in Leamington Spa. This position involves developing delivery strategies, managing teams, and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate has experience in leadership and relationship building, preferably with a background in STEM and non-profit sectors. This role operates Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 4.30pm.

Qualifications

  • Experience in leading operational teams.
  • Background in STEM is an advantage, as is experience in a charity or non-profit organisation.

Role Purpose

The Head of Delivery will lead and shape a wide-ranging STEM outreach programme, ensuring high quality, efficient delivery across schools and community settings, whilst leading a team to ensure excellence in delivery and quality assurance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage the delivery strategy, annual plan and budget.
  • Recruit, train and develop STEM Engagement Specialists within available resources to meet contractual requirements.
  • Lead the delivery of all STEM programmes by effectively managing and allocating salaried and freelance specialists.
  • Monitor performance through quality assurance, data analysis and participant feedback to maintain high delivery standards.
  • Collaborate with content and impact teams to support the development of new deliverable products.
  • Use CRM and project management tools to track delivery activity and provide programme-wide performance insights.
  • Promote best practice and actively contribute to STEM events for children and young people.
  • Ensure full compliance with safeguarding, health and safety, risk assessment and related policies.
  • Build strong cross-team relationships to support effective planning and coordination of programme delivery.
  • Set the strategy for the Delivery Team and ensure it aligns with organisational priorities, backed by clear reporting to senior leadership.
  • Lead departmental delivery and workforce planning, working with other teams to forecast demand, support staff wellbeing and sustain high performance.
  • Create and roll out a continuous training and development framework that equips delivery staff with the skills and confidence to engage effectively with children and young people.
  • Provide strong leadership and coordination to ensure seamless, professional delivery across school programmes, courses and community events.
  • Oversee annual quality assurance processes to uphold high standards and ensure delivery aligns with sector best practice.
  • Maintain full compliance with financial policies, ensuring accurate expenses, effective procurement and timely processing of freelance invoices.
  • Ensure all safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance procedures are followed and maintained.
