Elizabeth Heyrick Society is seeking Grant Writing Officers to secure the lasting legacy of one of Britain’s great social justice campaigners. If you’re a skilled communicator who’s passionate about social justice, join us in making a difference.
As a Grant Writing Officer for Elizabeth Heyrick Society, compiling proposals to secure funding for key initiatives such as our status project, your contributions will be fundamental to the success of our organisation.
Your efforts will directly contribute to the realisation of a monumental tribute to Elizabeth Heyrick in her home city of Leicester, which stands as a symbol of empowerment, advocacy, and social change. With your support, we will be able to honour Elizabeth Heyrick's legacy and amplify her message of equality and justice for all. Your ability to secure grants will provide the financial resources needed to commission, construct, and unveil the statue, ensuring that Heyrick's contributions to the women's rights movement are recognised and celebrated for generations to come.
Moreover, your successful grant applications will not only fund the physical manifestation of Heyrick's legacy but also enable us to develop accompanying educational programs, community outreach initiatives, and events centred around the statue. These efforts will engage and inspire individuals from all walks of life, fostering dialogue, awareness, and action on issues related to gender equality and social justice.
Join us in making a difference and leaving a lasting legacy. Your grant writing skills will be instrumental in bringing this inspiring vision to life and empowering future generations to continue Heyrick's work towards a more equitable and inclusive society.
As part of our grants team, you’ll play a crucial role in securing funding for our women’s rights and social equality initiatives. Your primary responsibility will be to develop compelling funding applications to grants from organisations including government agencies, foundations, and private donors. Alongside support from our Head of Fundraising, you’ll also collaborate with volunteers from across Elizabeth Heyrick Society to source content on our work to further social justice causes, inspired by the legacy of Elizabeth Heyrick’s tireless campaigning.
Your attention to detail and strong writing skills will be essential in crafting persuasive narratives that highlight the importance of our work and the need for financial support. While we are keen for our volunteering roles to fit flexibly around your other commitments, there will be funding deadlines associated with applications for you to manage in partnership with our Head of Fundraising.
