Job description

LSY Engineering Consultants Ltd is looking to recruit a graduate structural engineer for upcoming and ongoing projects. The role is West London based and is ideal for someone looking to begin a career in structural engineering.

Job Type: Full‑time

Location: London

Job Specification
  • The ability to deal with clients, suppliers, and members of the public.
  • Experience and responsibility for running elements of projects independently.
  • Structural design, report writing, and site visits.
  • Both permanent and temporary works projects.
  • Structural surveys mainly in London and the county areas, with occasional travel elsewhere in the UK.
  • Liaising with architects, developers, contractors, property funds, housing associations, and project management companies.
  • Business and company development work, including internal systems and marketing.
  • All training and work checked by Chartered Engineers (CEng, MIStructE) with mentorship from Chartered Engineers.
  • Expected to attain MIStructE chartership.
We are seeking applicants who:
  • Are passionate about engineering and interested in gaining varied structural experience.
  • Have A‑level Maths and Physics or equivalent qualifications.
  • Are currently undertaking an engineering‑related course (e.g. BEng or MEng).
  • Are able to work independently.
  • Have basic IT knowledge (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Possess good communication skills and can deal with clients, suppliers, and the public.
  • Are looking to work part‑time after a summer placement with a view to joining full time after university.
  • Are looking to attain MIStructE chartership.
