A regional council in New Zealand is seeking a Data & GIS Officer to support land management teams. The role involves providing expertise in GIS, supporting data collection training, and performing geospatial analysis. You will be an integral part of the Data & GIS, and the Land Management teams. You will provide exceptional support to our Land Management Officers applying your knowledge of ESRI GIS, along with using your excellent people skills, to support mobile data collection training and field activities, and deliver geospatial analysis and reporting to support land management activities in the Taranaki region.
As the successful candidate, you will have relevant tertiary qualifications, combined with demonstrable experience in the use, maintenance and installation of GIS software, specifically with knowledge of the ESRI suite of products including AppStudio, Field Maps, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online. Knowledge of Python and SQL would also be advantageous.
You will be able to manage, maintain and input quality data into GIS applications and undertake appropriate analysis. Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively impart your knowledge to others will ensure your success in this critical role. You will also need to be versatile, resourceful and have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
