Overview
EQUANS are looking for a General Maintenance Operative working on behalf of our HMCTS contract at Woolwich Crown Court. This role would be a permanent full-time role working 40 hours per week. On offer is a competitive salary and benefits package.
Responsibilities
- Carry out both planned and reactive maintenance on a wide variety of Fabric and limited Engineering Assets, ensuring all activities are completed in a safe and timely manner and in accordance with the contracted output specifications and EQUANS processes and procedures. This includes Legionella control and monitoring activities.
- Inspect/repair floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, furniture, drainage and gully systems, lamps/tubes, doors (including Fire Doors), and windows and associated furniture.
- Perform Legionella duties – tap temps and flushing.
- Paint and re-decorate and hang pictures/notices.
- Plantroom inspections and AHU filter changes.
- Reactive repairs and initial attendance for toilets, leaks and blockages; assist engineering staff as required.
- Carry out reactive/Ad-Hoc activities as first on-site response and take action to make safe where appropriate.
- Escort contractors and undertake external litter picking, basic general grounds maintenance, and flat roof cleaning (gullies and drains).
- Ensure consumables are available, provide parts lists and estimated timescales; complete relevant paperwork/CAFM regarding planned and reactive activities and pass to contract administrator.
- Ensure Method Statements and Risk Assessments are prepared and used for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
- Develop good working relationships with Equans staff, subcontractors and client representatives.
- Provide a Safe and Healthy working environment with uniform and PPE; maintain a professional image for Equans.
- Supervise and monitor sub-contractors on site for Fabric tasks; arrange holiday and sickness cover; undertake lone working as required (subject to training).
- Ensure tasks are actioned/completed and are aligned with contractual KPIs/SLA’s; keep CAFM system (e.g., Maximo) up to date and close out tickets with accurate data.
- Carry out any other tasks as directed by the account management team.
Qualifications
Desirable to have an NVQ (or similar) in one of the following: Plumbing, Carpentry, Decorating services.
