A leading home care provider in London is seeking a dedicated Paediatric Complex Care Support Worker. Paediatric Complex Care Support Worker (PEG, Tracheostomy, Suctioning, Ventilation)
Location: London (Across various boroughs)
Salary: £16 – £20/hour (DOE & skill level)
We are looking for an experienced and confident Paediatric Complex Care Support Worker to provide high-quality, specialist care for children and young people with life-limiting or complex medical conditions in their homes or community settings across London.
You will play a vital role in supporting children with tracheostomy, ventilation, suctioning, and PEG/JEJ feeding, ensuring both clinical safety and emotional well-being in a child-focused environment.
Deliver one-on-one care to children with complex medical needs in a home or community setting.
Perform daily clinical tasks including:
Tracheostomy care & management
Airway suctioning (oral, nasal, or tracheal)
Ventilator support (invasive or non-invasive)
PEG/JEJ tube feeding and medication administration
Oxygen therapy and nebulisation
Monitor and document clinical observations such as:
Respiratory effort
Oxygen saturations
Seizure activity
PEG tolerance and feeding records
Maintain hygiene, dignity, and comfort through personal care assistance.
Support play, learning, and emotional development where appropriate.
Communicate effectively with families, case managers, and healthcare professionals.
Respond to medical emergencies (e.g. respiratory distress, seizures), following care plan protocols and calling 999 if needed.
Ensure safeguarding and health & safety policies are followed at all times.
Minimum 6 months experience in complex care or paediatrics.
Proven hands-on experience with:
Tracheostomy care
Suctioning techniques
PEG feeding
Ventilator support
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
Current mandatory training (e.g. Basic Life Support, Manual Handling, Infection Control, Safeguarding).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Right to work in the UK.
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (Children or Clinical Pathway)
Paediatric First Aid Certification
Ventilator and tracheostomy competency sign-off
Experience working with children with neurological conditions, epilepsy, or life-limiting illnesses
