Credit Benchmark, headquartered in London, UK, with additional offices in New York City, USA, and Bangalore, India is a financial data and analytics company offering access to an entirely new source of information: the consensus credit risk view of the world’s leading banks. These unique credit risk indicators help deliver a greater understanding of the credit quality of entities around the world.

The role

Credit Benchmark India is looking for a mid‑senior Front‑End developer to work exclusively on Credit Benchmark projects, with strong experience in CSS, HTML, ReactJS and WordPress. An excellent understanding of the software development life cycle in all things front‑end is essential across the design, development and release process. The role will be based in Bangalore, reporting to Head of Application Development. The successful candidate will have strong collaboration with Credit Benchmark’s Development, Infrastructure and Product teams based in London and New York.

As a Front‑End developer you will be part of a busy and diverse development team. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work and contribute to the existing and next big phase of development at Credit Benchmark, producing services intended for some of the biggest financial institutions in the world. This is a unique opportunity to work on green field projects along with enhancing and developing the existing brown field system and taking them to a mature and finished products. You will be working in a fast‑paced agile environment with a vastly experienced technology team. You will have input and ownership of elements of Credit Benchmark Web Application and corporate websites.

Working location is WeWork, Salarpuria Sattva Magnificia, Bangalore.

Your responsibilities will include
  • Develop high quality solutions with clean, scalable code
  • Analyze, design and implement solutions for given problems
  • Remain up to date with the terminology, technology, concepts and best practices for web sites and web applications
  • Working closely with Product team to understand the requirements and implement.
  • Coordinate with other software professionals and developers
  • Begin to identify tech‑debt, start to identify opportunities to improve, and sometimes make
    recommendations on how to implement
What we are looking for
  • At least 5 to 7 years of web app development and maintenance experience
  • Minimum 3 years development experience in ReactJS
  • Experience / Knowledge on AWS preferred
  • Understanding of Agile methodologies
  • the ability to demonstrate initiative to improve existing processes as
  • Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills
  • Able to work well in a team setting as well as an individual
  • Working experience on SEO is preferred
  • Knowledge on financial domain is added advantage

Demonstrable and extensive front‑end development experience

  • Emphasis on modular, component based, reusable code
  • Experience in consuming API/service‑based applications using AJAX
  • Keen eye for details and sensibility to good design/UX practices
  • Expert with React and Redux
  • Exposure to ES6/7
  • Exposure to TypeScript and unit testing

CSS / HTML

  • Usage of CSS preprocessors
  • Exposure to modular HTML/CSS methodologies (BEM)
  • CSS animations

Build tools

  • Working with source control like Git
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines preferably
  • Understanding of web server configuration

Website Management

  • WordPress and plugins
  • Search optimization
  • Security / Authentication / Authorization maintenance and enhancements

SQL Server

  • Knowledge or Ability to write T‑SQL queries and understand database is an added advantage.
