Electrify Video Partners is a dynamic new digital media company that invests in and scales creators with an established YouTube presence. Our mission is to turn creators into global media businesses by building teams, scaling the production and distribution of their content and introducing new revenue streams across platforms. We acquire between 50% and 100% of creator businesses with an established YouTube presence. We have invested in various leading channels and raised multiple funding rounds, having existing revenue streams.

About the role

Join Fireship, one of the biggest software engineering and tech channels on YouTube, known for its high-energy, fast-paced tutorials and breakdowns of programming, software development, and technology trends. With a loyal following of over 3.8 million subscribers, Fireship specializes in delivering bite-sized, informative, and entertaining tech content that makes complex topics easy to understand.

We are looking for talented and creative freelance Video Editors to join our remote content production team. The ideal candidates will have experience in story-based video editing and a strong interest in technology, coding, and development. If you have experience creating tutorial-based or tech-oriented videos, this will be a huge advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Play a key role in the production and video editing of Fireship’s YouTube content to increase the quantity and variety of output, contributing to growth and audience engagement.
• Proactively source, select and import relevant media elements (videos, images) to elevate scripts and voice overs into dynamic video content.
• Collaborate closely with creators and scriptwriters to ensure alignment with the overall storytelling vision, while demonstrating initiative and producing high-quality work that meets expectations.
• Maintain organised project files and documentation to ensure easy access to assets and seamless collaboration with team members.
• Keep up to date with internet culture and news from the tech world.

Requirements

• Proven experience in video editing, with a strong editorial portfolio that demonstrates expertise in digital content creation, particularly for YouTube and short form video that tells a story with archive images.
• Confident use of keyframe animation for ‘faceless’ video content.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere Pro, After Effects, Illustrator, and Photoshop.
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring consistency in fonts, colors, styles, and visual elements as per the Fireship brand, while elevating production value.
• Experience working with programming or tech-related content is highly desirable, with the ability to understand complex topics and break them down into digestible, engaging video formats.
• A passion for technology, programming, and digital content creation, with a keen interest in staying up-to-date on industry trends and best practices.
• YouTube is your primary source of media for education and entertainment, with the ability to craft videos that maximise engagement and audience retention.

• Competence in popular coding and programming languages, especially experience working as a software developer or building digital projects.
