Job summary

The role primarily involves coaching with our football programme and supporting the development of all male and female student‑athletes within the programme, in accordance with our philosophy. The role consists of working closely with the Programme Manager, coaches and teachers to ensure departmental performance targets are maintained and achieved.

ROLE OVERVIEW
Coaching
  • Work with the coaches and programme manager to plan, assist and deliver every coaching session in accordance with our philosophy and coaching programme
  • Ensure that training programmes are clearly planned and executed in accordance with the academy vision, pillars, and values
  • Ensure learning objectives are attained across the programme
  • Ensure the coaching vocabulary and coaching methods are maintained throughout sessions
  • Effective and efficient communication between staff, players and parents to ensure optimal well‑being and development of all players
  • Develop and maintain a positive learning environment to maximise each student‑athlete’s learning potential
  • Plan and deliver recruitment trial sessions during half‑terms
  • Conduct player and/or parent reviews and provide individual development plan for student‑athletes
  • Support with the coaching programme delivery for international athletes
  • Support with pathways opportunities for student‑athlete on the programme
Match Days
  • Attend required match day events and ensure match day planning is maintained and well organised in advance
  • Transport and drive student‑athletes via the company minibus to the required match day venues
  • Arrange additional games as deemed necessary to maintain performance targets within the programme
  • Ensure Match day admin is completed prior, during and post fixtures, including but not limited to; match confirmations, team sheets, organising officials and their payment process, uploading scores, devices set‑up, uploading match data, watch game back and clip, and organising the player fine process
  • Demonstrate a high level of professional touchline behaviour and take a lead in ensuring the same from players and staff
GENERAL DUTIES
  • Adhere to the company Teamship Rules
  • Ensure general administration duties are performed; keeping on top of emails, dialog with tutors and sports therapists, student supervision, CRM/Team App usage/updates, and good care of academy equipment and facilities
  • Document all appropriate communication with parents/guardians and filter this to line management in a timely manner
  • Responsible for maintenance of training/match balls, bibs, cones and all other relevant equipment
  • Support and deliver presentations, masterclasses and workshops if required
  • Direct potential student‑athletes to the website to complete an application or to the recruitment team
  • Maintain an open, multi‑disciplinary approach to your daily tasks and liaise frequently with all staff members
  • Provide detailed reports monthly to the line manager in‑line with KPI’s
  • Maintain a flexible approach to work at all times; supporting the company as and when needed in any capacity
  • Ensure the safety of student‑athletes at all times
  • To be responsible for reporting all safeguarding issues when notified via the correct channels
  • Set high standards of professionalism and demonstrate a high standard of conduct
  • Build and maintain good working relationships both internally and externally, maintaining a professionalism at all times
  • Support and inspire student‑athletes both in sporting and educational activities
  • Ensure all mandatory qualifications are up to date as well as having an update to date and clean driving licence
  • Drive the company minibus.
REQUIREMENTS
  • UEFA B licence (or working towards)
  • Basic First Aid for Sport
  • Safeguarding and welfare experience with knowledge of children protection practices
  • Extensive knowledge and experience of the role and the position
  • Experience working with students and academy players
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Minimum 3 years coaching experience
  • Minimum 3 years working with elite players
  • IT skills to include the ability to use Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • A sympathetic yet disciplined approach
  • A positive, personable and enthusiasm attitude
  • A self‑starter who is capable of working in a team or individually
  • Full clean driving licence

  • £22,000-£26,000 Salary (Full‑time)* or £10-£20 per hour Self Employed
  • May be required to work weekends
