Overview

We are recruiting Fire Damper Engineers to travel regionally to a variety of sites to carry out the testing, maintenance and installation of fire and smoke dampers. This is a field-based full-time role. The Engineer will work in line with current standards and build professional relationships with clients. Applications are welcomed from experienced Fire Damper Engineers currently working within the Passive Fire, Fire Protection and Service industry.

Responsibilities
  • Handling tools of various types including heavy equipment and ensuring safe set up.
  • Performing physical activities including the testing, maintenance and installation of a wide range of fire and smoke damper systems.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines whilst on the job site.
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are kept clean and in good repair.
  • Remove debris and waste from site.
  • Ensure all specifications are met, including industry best practice, manufacturers literature and standard product details.
  • Ensure all works are accurately reported using EDSB's reporting platform.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Good knowledge of mechanical and electrical building services including ventilation systems.
  • Good practical skills and communication skills.
  • Experience in the passive fire & fire stopping industry would be beneficial.
  • Recognised fire damper inspection qualification.
  • Manual dexterity and coordination skills; physical strength and stamina.
  • Strong work ethic; computer literate; ability to read technical drawings; reliability and initiative.
  • Willingness to travel and stay away for jobs where necessary.
  • Full clean UK driving licence.
  • Excellent timekeeping and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and a team player, demonstrating professionalism, positivity and proactiveness.
Working arrangements

Working hours are 08:30 to 17:00 Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch break. Salary will be discussed at interview stage. Successful candidates will be required to undergo BS7858 Employment Screening and an Enhanced DBS check.

  • Willingness to travel regionally across the UK and stay away from home where necessary.
