Purpose of the Role

The Finance Officer will support the day‑to‑day financial operations of the brokerage, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in financial processes. The role involves maintaining financial records, assisting with reconciliations, supporting management reporting, and ensuring adherence to FCA and other regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Accounting
  • Prepare bonus calculations
  • Assist in month‑end and year‑end closing processes
  • Support preparation of management accounts, forecasts, and budgets
  • Calculate execution costs per broker
  • Process payroll journals and expense claims
Regulatory & Compliance
  • Support compliance with FCA regulations
  • Assist in preparing data for FCA reporting and external audits
  • Maintain awareness of financial controls and internal compliance procedures
Financial Analysis & Reporting
  • Produce regular financial and performance reports for senior management
  • Support ad‑hoc financial analysis to guide business decisions
Liaison & Coordination
  • Liaise with auditors, tax advisors, and other external stakeholders
  • Collaborate with Operations and Compliance teams to ensure financial data integrity
  • Support continuous improvement of financial systems and procedures
Key Skills & Competencies
  • Strong understanding of double‑entry bookkeeping and financial controls
  • Knowledge of FCA rules
  • High proficiency in Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Sage, Xero, or QuickBooks)
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast‑paced environment
Qualifications & Experience
